Overview

Grid

In the center of the screen, you'll find a 25x25 grid. Here you can place, edit & delete blocks, traps and guards.

Keyboard Quick Reference

At the left of the screen, you'll find an overview of shortcuts and hotkeys for the app.
The upper half are keys to be held down to enter their respective mode and the lower half are hotkeys to directly access some functions.

Palette

At the right of the screen, you'll find a palette with all Blocks, non-surface Traps and Guards to pick from.

Press 1 - 9 to select the first item of each row. Press the same key again to select the other item in that row.

Hover your cursor over any item in the palette to see it's name in a tool tip.

History Controls (Undo / Redo)

At the top of the screen, you'll find the history controls to undo or redo your actions.

Press Z to undo or Y to redo.

You can undo and redo up to 50 steps.

Zoom Controls

At the bottom of the screen, you'll find the zoom controls. Here you can zoom in, out and click the current zoom level to reset it to 100%.

Use CTRL + to zoom in/out.

Press 0 to reset the zoom to 100%.

To scale up/down the UI, use your browser's native zoom function.

Placing Items

Placing Blocks, Traps and Guards

This is the default mode. Click on a free cell on the grid to place the currently selected item from the palette. Don't worry, it does not replace items!

Use to place an item.

Use (Hold) to draw across the grid.

Placing the GenMat

Places the one and only GenMat on the grid. If it's already placed, it will be moved over to the new cell.

Use G (Hold) + to place the GenMat.

Placing Death Blossoms and Mines

The range of a Death Blossom is 2 cells in each direction and reduced by other items blocking it.

Mines can only be placed within the range of an existing Death Blossom.

When moving or deleting a Death Blossom, all Mines that are out of range will be removed.

Editing Traps

Cycles between different setups of traps attached to a block's surface. If your specific setup doesn't seem possible, try rotating the block, too!

For Squares:

For Wedges:

Use E (Hold) + on blocks to edit them.

For now, surface traps don't feature specific types or modifications, with the exception of Second Wave.

Toggling Second Wave

Toggles the Second Wave modification for a trap or block with at least one trap on it's surface.

Use S (Hold) + to toggle the Second Wave modification.

For now, only one Second Wave mod can be applied per block, regardless of how many traps are attached to it's surface.

Rotating Blocks

Rotates blocks (counter-)clockwise by 90°.

Use R (Hold) + to rotate ⟳.

Use R (Hold) + SHIFT (Hold) + to rotate ⟲.

Moving, Copying & Deleting Items

Move

Moves / transports an item by dragging it to a new position on the grid. If you drop it on an existing item, it will swap places with the dragged item.

Use T (Hold) + (Hold) to drag & drop items.

Copy

This mode is a shorthand for selecting an item from the palette.

Use C (Hold) + to select the item.

Surface traps and other modifications will not be "copied".

Delete

Deletes any item from the grid.

Use D (Hold) + to delete the item.

Importing and Exporting Map Data

Import Map

Opens a dialog to import map data from a .json file.

Press I to open the Import Map dialog.

This will overwrite the existing map! However, you can undo this step.

Export Map

Opens a dialog to export your map data to a .json file.

Press O to open the Export Map dialog.

If no map name is given, I will name it for you!

Removing All Items

Opens the confirmation dialog for removing all items from the grid.

You can undo this step.
